Mountain Walking

Parsons Green is an ideal central location for walking enthusiasts. There are three major mountain ranges surrounding us, The Galty mountains, The Knockmealdown Mountains and The Comeraghs. These offer walks to suit all ages and abilities on our doorstep.

Mitchelstown Cave

Situated on the main cork to Dublin road in Co.Tipperary. Just 7 min from Parsons Green. Entering the cave takes you into a world of breath taking natural formations, stalactites, stalagmites and beautiful Calcite curtains whose crystals shine like diamonds. Guided tours for families and groups available.

Rock of Cashel

Traditional seat of the Kings of Munster and one of the most remarkable collections of celtic art and medieval architecture to be found anywhere in Europe. Only 20 mins drive from Parsons Green.

Hore Abbey

Hore Abbey sits in the shadow of the Rock of Cashel, in what is now open grazing land, which is accessible to the public. The Abbey dates from the 13th century when the former Benedictine Abbey at Hore was given to the Cistercians by Archbishop David MacCearbhaill (in 1270), who later entered the monastery. Cahir Castle

One of the largest Castle in Ireland, situated on the River Suir in the centre of Cahir. A very well preserved castle with excellent guided tours and audiovisual shows. A 10 min drive from Parsons Green.

Swiss Cottage Cahir

Built in the 1800's by Richard Butler. It's interior contains a graceful spiral staircase and some elegantly decorated rooms. Well worth a visit and just 10 minutes drive from us here at the Parsons Green. For more information visit below website:

The Vee

A scenic drive from Parsons Green through the Knockmealdown Mountains into Co. Waterford and the lovely towns of Lismore or Cappaquin on the River Blackwater. Breath taking scenery for walkers, cyclists or drivers alike.

The River Tar Flows Along the bounds of Parsons Green, which is a tributary of the River Suir. Plenty of opportunity to both the seasoned and novice angler. From the River Suir to Lough Derg, Tipperary offers a host of fishing.
